“Mainly Grenache (75%), with smaller proportions of Syrah (15%) and Carignan (10%), the 2019 Côtes du Roussillon Villages Tautavel An 560 was aged in a mix of tank (one-third) and barrels (two-thirds, with 33% new oak). Exotically scented with hints of rose petals, licorice and potpourri, these add attractive notes to the black-cherry backdrop. It’s medium to full-bodied in the mouth, rather open-knit and forward, with just a dusting of tannins on the finish. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.”
